Objective

Applications are invited for cooperative research and reporting projects involving teams comprising at least one person from the realm of science/scholarship and one from journalism. The projects are to be completed within a period of six to maximum nine months. They must constitute an added value for both sides: science/scholarship as well as data-driven journalism. Grants of up to 100,000 euros can be allocated to cover the costs of positions, research or reporter stipends, travel expenses, and other non-personnel items.

In addition to this, the funding offer encompasses two workshops: one at the beginning and one at the end of the funding period. The workshops provide a forum for members of all the different project groups to discuss cross-cutting issues like statistical methods, data protection, and publication formats in which the project results will be disseminated together with sources.

Proposals will be evaluated by an international panel of comprising experts in the fields of scholarship and (data-driven) journalism.
