Governance

For several decades, we have been actively engaged in spreading the foundation concept at national and international level. In associations and committees, the Volkswagen Foundation has constantly championed the establishment of good governance standards in the foundation sector.

In its work the Volkswagen Foundation itself is guided primarily by:

• the "Principles of Good Foundation Practice (in German)" of the Association of German Foundations, Berlin
• the "Principles of Good Practice" by Philea (Philantrophy Europe Association), Brussels
• the "20 Principles of Good Practice" (PDF, 150.9 KB)with information on the standard practice of the Volkswagen Foundation.
